According to the details, the complaining journalist and social worker Syed Talat Shah appeared in the Central District Court along with his respected lawyers. The learned lawyers called the attention of the court that the deliberate non-filing of the reply by the SBCA was tantamount to patronage of the builders, on which the learned judge first directed the head of the Appellate Committee, Ali Mehdi Kazmi, to appear in person, and later, in view of the request for review by the SBCA lawyers, he summoned the Director Central Jalees Siddiqui in a personal capacity at the next hearing.
The purpose of the trial of journalist and human rights defender Syed Talat Shah in the Special Court is not only to end the organized network of exhibition operations including the delayed tactics of the Sindh Building Control Authority on the vast illegal constructions of the Central District, but also to restore the infrastructure of Karachi. At the next hearing, concrete action will also be taken against the private contractors and representatives involved in this organized network, who patronize the illegal constructions.
