Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to strengthen bilateral ties

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in religious affairs, particularly in Hajj and Umrah arrangements, as well as other areas of mutual interest. This commitment was expressed at a meeting between Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Saudi Ambassador Dr. Rajeh bin Tami Albugami in Islamabad today. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf appreciated the exemplary measures being taken by the Saudi leadership to facilitate pilgrims and termed the Route to Makkah initiative an excellent project that has significantly eased travel for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims. Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador said serving Hajj pilgrims is a great blessing, which is why the Saudi King has adopted the title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He said a focal person is being appointed to ensure faster and improved facilities for Umrah pilgrims. Dr Rajeh bin Tami Albugami also expressed admiration for the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and described Pakistan as a beautiful country whose people are known for their friendliness and hospitality. He assured that the doors of the Saudi Embassy would always remain open to Pakistani brothers.
