Fulbright Scholar Program 2026 Opens Applications for Pakistani Academics

Global (Syed Talat Abbas Shah) The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced the opening of applications for the Fulbright Scholar Program 2026, offering Pakistani scholars and professionals the opportunity to engage in advanced teaching and research in the United States.
Funded by the U.S. Government, the program provides support for up to 10 months of academic exchange at American universities and colleges. Participants may choose to undertake teaching, post-doctoral research, or a combination of both, depending on their academic goals and professional expertise.
According to USEFP, the program is open to candidates from all academic disciplines except clinical medicine. Eligibility requires applicants to hold a Ph.D. or the highest terminal degree in their respective fields.
“This program continues to strengthen academic collaboration between Pakistan and the United States by building research networks and fostering cross-cultural understanding,” USEFP officials noted.

With Pakistan already being one of the largest sources of Fulbright scholars globally, the 2026 program is expected to further contribute to academic excellence and knowledge exchange.
