HYDERABAD DP News (Syed), September 4, 2026: U.S. Consul General Charles Goodman concluded a two-day visit to Hyderabad, holding meetings with business leaders, government officials, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and alumni of Pakistan-U.S. exchange programs.
The visit focused on strengthening Pakistan-U.S. trade and economic relations, investment, technology cooperation, and agricultural development.
Goodman met representatives of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sindh Abadgar Board to discuss trade and investment opportunities in agriculture, food processing, textiles, auto parts, and mineral resources.
He welcomed a new agreement to streamline fumigation requirements for soybean imports from the United States, saying improved soybean imports would support Pakistan’s animal feed industry.
At the National Incubation Center, Goodman discussed demand for U.S. artificial intelligence (AI), agritech, and technology solutions. He also met members of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network’s Jamshoro Chapter, who work in technology, agriculture, water resources, renewable energy, and education.
During the visit, Goodman inaugurated the Founders Museum at Lincoln Corner Hyderabad as part of events marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. The exhibition will travel to educational and cultural institutions across Sindh through December.
Goodman also met Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro to discuss irrigation, flood response, and U.S. investment. He visited Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd. as part of his engagement with the local industrial sector.
“American companies, technology, and investment are woven into the fabric of Pakistan’s economy,” Goodman said.
