E-marking system has been implemented in all education boards across the country including Punjab, while special software has also been developed for online marking. The Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has made it mandatory for all education boards to implement the e-marking system. According to officials, the software developed for e-marking has been provided to all boards free of cost. This year, online marking of computer papers will be done under a pilot project. If this project is successful, in the next phase, marking of papers of all subjects will also be done under the e-marking system. According to IBCC, the aim of this initiative is to promote transparency, speed up the results process and reduce possible errors during marking. Education experts say that the digital marking system will not only release the results quickly but will also promote the use of modern technology in the examination system.
