Expressing concern over recent border clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday condemned the Taliban’s indiscriminate firing at Pakistan Army positions, calling it both “provocative and unacceptable.” Dar clarified that, unlike the Taliban, Pakistan’s retaliatory actions were focused solely on dismantling terrorist infrastructure inside Afghanistan and did not target civilians. “We are showing maximum restraint to ensure there is no collateral damage,” he emphasized. He further said that Pakistan expected the Afghan government to crack down on the outfits carrying out terrorist attacks in Pakistan. At the same time, the deputy prime minister made it clear that Pakistan would take all possible steps to protect its territory and the people.
