Punjab government on Monday withdrawn security from the sons of former prime minister and PPP leader Yousaf Raza Gilani. Punjab government has taken back security from PPP members of the National Assembly Abdul Qadir Gilani, Ali Qasim Gilani and Ali Musa Gilani besides Chairman Public Accounts Committee Punjab Ali Haider Gilani. Gilani House Multan has confirmed that security has been withdrawn by Punjab government. PPP leaders have raised serious concerns over Punjab government’s decision. Ali Haider Gilani, who survived a high-profile kidnapping in 2013 and has long been under security threat, expressed his dismay over the move. Ali Qasim Gilani said that security provided to Public Accounts Committee chairman was his legal and constitutional right. Syed Ali Haider Gilani said, “I have been a target of terrorism for many years, and my life remains at risk,” he said, calling the government’s action as irresponsible decision. PPP leaders have also condemned the withdrawal, terming it a reckless step that disregards the family’s past security challenges. Police spokesperson said Senate Chairman and former Prime Minister house has normal security measures. PPP leaders have expressed concerns over the decision of Punjab government and said that they being made target of political vendetta.
