Shan Masood slammed a double hundred, his first as Pakistan’s Test captain. Playing against Prime Minister’s XI in a four-day practice game, Masood remained unbeaten on 201 runs off 298 balls, laced with 14 fours and a six. The visitors declared after scoring 391/9 on day 2 of the game. Masood had completed his hundred on the opening day. The 34-year-old has amassed over 10,000 runs in his first-class career, with the help of 25 hundreds and 47 fifties. Sarfaraz Ahmed (41), Babar Azam (40) and Abdullah Shafique (38) stitched important partnerships with their skipper.. Meanwhile, Masood took over Pakistan’s Test captaincy after Babar Azam’s resignation following the team’s poor performance in the ICC World Cup.
