SC to hear ECP’s review petition on Punjab polls today

The Supreme Court will hear the revision petition of the Election Commission related to the Punjab elections today. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial will conduct the hearing. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar are included in the bench. The court had ordered to hold elections in Punjab on May 14. On May 3, the Election Commission had filed a review application on the decision, while the Election Commission could not implement the decision of the Supreme Court. The federal government did not provide 21 billion rupees funds to the Election Commission for the elections. The federal government, caretaker Punjab government, election commission along with PTI have submitted their response to the court.
