Audio Leaks: Judicial Commission announced to make proceedings public

The judicial commission set up to investigate AudioLeaks has started the proceedings headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, the commission has announced to make the proceedings public. Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq and Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Naeem Akhtar Afghan are also included in the 3-member commission headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
The AudioLeaks Judicial Commission has announced that the proceedings will be made public. The inquiry commission said that if any sensitive matter comes up, they will review the request for in-camera action. The commission ordered the federal government to provide the email address and all the materials, the next hearing will be held on Saturday.
The proceedings of the judicial commission set up to investigate the audio leaks began in the Supreme Court building, the commission includes senior judge of the Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq and Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
Attorney General Usman Mansoor Awan appeared in the proceedings of the Audio Leaks Commission. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa remarked that the commission was formed under which law? To which the Attorney General replied that the Commission has been formed under the Commission of Inquiry Act 2016.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said in his remarks that 2 elderly women are also included among those to be investigated, if the request comes, the commission can also go to Lahore for action.
The Judicial Commission directed the Attorney General to provide the mobile phone and SIM for the commission today and also ordered that the phone number provided for the Judicial Commission will be made public.
The Judicial Commission has asked the government to provide all the audio recordings, the federal government to provide all the materials by Wednesday. Transcripts of all audios are also directed to be provided with the signature of the responsible officer. The commission said that if there is a mistake in the transcript, action will be taken against the concerned officer.
Senior Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faiz Isa also clarified the jurisdiction of the inquiry commission. He said that the inquiry commission is not the Supreme Judicial Council, the inquiry commission is not taking any action against any judge, the commission has been established only to determine the facts.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa says that there will be no interference in the jurisdiction of the Supreme Judicial Council, they will respect all witnesses and expect respect, the commission has the power to issue summons to non-cooperators, the commission will only issue notices.
