FM Bilawal calls devising strategy for sustainable growth of OIC states

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for setting up a committee of Organization of Islamic Cooperation to devise a strategy for sustainable growth and development of all member countries.
Addressing OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Mauritania, he said the Muslim countries must instill sustainability, acquire modern knowledge and advance in digital capabilities.
He mentioned that Pakistan has already initiated an agreement for collaboration between OIC and Digital Cooperation Organization.
The Foreign Minister said as most of the Muslim countries face economic crisis, we must endeavor to achieve economic independence and develop a clear strategy in collaboration with developed countries and international partners to secure equity in international financial rules and structures.
He said the OIC must strengthen its counter terrorism and security infrastructure.
He said Pakistan has not spared any effort to avoid major humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, and now international community must continue its engagement there for lasting stability there.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will support all efforts to extirpate terrorism in Afghanistan.
Highlighting India’s blatant violation of international laws and UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir issue, the Foreign Minister urged the OIC countries to play role in helping Kashmiri people get their inalienable right to self-determination.
On Islamophobia, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Muslim countries should individually and collectively raise voice against it.
He urged the UN secretary General to formulate an action plan to combat Islamophobia and appoint a UN special envoy for protection of Islamic holy sites and outlaw hate speech and violence against Muslims.
