Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has reiterated the government’s commitment to providing world-class facilities to Pakistani pilgrims through the use of modern technology. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today, he said the objective is to ensure a comfortable stay for Pakistani pilgrims in the Holy Land. The Minister said under the Hajj Policy 2027, 107,526 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj next year under the government scheme. He said the package for the 40-day Hajj scheme has been set at Rs1.2 million, while the package for the short Hajj scheme of 20 to 25 days has been set at Rs1.3 million. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said the collection of the first Hajj installment will begin from the seventeenth of this month, while the second installment will be collected from the first week of October. He said 71,684 pilgrims will perform Hajj next year under the private Hajj scheme. The Minister said pilgrims opting for the private scheme will also use the digital payment system through the Pak Hajj App or Hajj Portal to pay their installments. He said the digital system has been introduced to facilitate pilgrims, streamline the payment process and ensure greater transparency.
