PTI Founder Imran Khan underwent a detailed medical examination in jail on February 15, with a signed report confirming improvement in his right eye following treatment. The medical report, issued under the signatures of Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan, outlines key findings regarding his eyesight and ongoing recovery. According to the report, Imran Khan was examined by a board of ophthalmologists comprising senior professors. The board included Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Muhammad Arif Khan of PIMS. The examination took place on February 15, and a detailed medical report was subsequently issued. Vision assessment, improvement The report states that without glasses, the vision in the founder’s right eye was recorded as 6/24 partial, while the left eye was 6/9. With glasses, the right eye improved to 6/9 partial and the left eye achieved 6/6 vision. Doctors noted that in the right eye, signs of inflammation were observed in blood flow and the retina. However, the swelling in the right eye has reduced significantly. The thickness has decreased from 550 to 350, which doctors describe as a clear sign of improvement. The report further states that vision has improved from 6/36 to 6/9 partial, adding that eyesight at this stage is “quite good”. Further advice Experts have advised conducting OCT angiography and an FFA test after the completion of anti-VEGF treatment. These tests are expected to provide further clarity on retinal health and overall recovery. According to the medical report, the examining doctors also briefed PTI and opposition leadership about the founder’s condition. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas met both doctors at PIMS last night. The two opposition leaders were given a detailed update on the founder’s medical status. Additionally, Dr. Asim Yousaf and Dr. Khurram Mirza were briefed over the phone regarding the findings. After the briefing, opposition leaders as well as the founder’s personal physicians expressed complete satisfaction with the treatment and progress, the report said.
