Naqvi confirms arrests of Indian-backed Daesh operatives behind Islamabad attack

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the mastermind behind the recent Islamabad attack has ties to the banned terrorist organization ISIS and is currently in the custody of law enforcement agencies. Speaking at a press conference, Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, stating that the attack has deeply shaken the entire nation. He offered his condolences to the families of the victims and stressed that every citizen is grieving the loss. Naqvi also highlighted that the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other relevant agencies have successfully apprehended all individuals connected to the attack. The Interior Minister further revealed that the attack was planned in Afghanistan, where the terrorist was trained before being brought to Pakistan. He mentioned that authorities have gathered concrete evidence regarding how the attacker was trained in Afghanistan and subsequently brought to carry out the attack. Naqvi emphasized that the planning of the attack was orchestrated by ISIS elements based in Afghanistan. Naqvi confirmed that the mastermind and facilitators of the attack have been arrested, and several raids were conducted immediately after the bombing, including operations in Peshawar and Nowshera. He also mentioned that during the raids, a law enforcement officer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was martyred, while several others were injured. The Interior Minister stressed the importance of community intelligence, especially during such challenging times, saying, “We are in a state of war.” He called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities. Naqvi further revealed that 21 terrorist organizations are currently operating from Afghanistan, and while one attack occurred, the authorities have successfully thwarted 99 others. He emphasized that the police and security systems need to be upgraded to handle such threats more effectively in the future. In a significant revelation, Naqvi accused India of funding terrorist activities in Pakistan. He claimed that the funding for terrorism has been significantly increased since May, with terrorists now receiving larger amounts of financial support. According to Naqvi, the amount given to terrorists has risen from $500 to $1,500, and he alleged that India is responsible for funding ISIS and other terrorist organizations. He further stated that even if the funding for terrorism is increased tenfold, Pakistan will continue to take every possible measure to stop such attacks. The Interior Minister also pointed out that India’s funding has directly supported terrorism in regions like Balochistan, where multiple attacks have occurred. He said that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has been making videos of these attacks, which are then broadcast on Indian media. Naqvi concluded by expressing confidence that one day, countries will raise their voices against India for its role in supporting terrorism in the region, and India will eventually face global condemnation for its actions.
