Pakistan, China to enhance cybercrime cooperation

Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance cooperation in intelligence sharing and the field of cybercrime. This agreement was reached at a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad today. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on counter-terrorism, internal security, and security cooperation. The Interior Minister and the Chinese Ambassador reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan-China strategic partnership. Regarding the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, Mohsin Naqvi said these acts were carried out under an organized and premeditated plan. He said the security forces responded in a timely and effective manner. The Minister also briefed the Ambassador on the measures taken for the protection of Chinese citizens and Chinese projects. He said the safety of Chinese citizens and projects is of paramount importance. He said a Special Protection Unit is being established for the security of Chinese nationals. Modern Chinese technology and equipment will prove supportive for coordinated counter-terrorism operations. The Chinese Ambassador condemned the terrorist attacks on civilians and security forces in Balochistan and expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families. He said China condemns terrorism in all its forms and stands firmly with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism. The Chinese Ambassador thanked Pakistan for the security measures taken for Chinese nationals. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan on every occasion.
