Water supply to Islamabad, Pindi disrupted due to cleaning of Khanpur Dam

The supply of water to the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad would remain disrupted for the next 10 days due to the cleaning of Khanpur Dam. As per the notification issued by the CDA Khanpur Dam division, the water supply will remain suspended from February 5 to February 15. It has been decided to control the supply of water to the Sangani treatment plant. The water supply to Rawalpindi during the aforementioned period would drop from 19 million gallons to six million gallons, while to Islamabad it would come down from 9.6 million gallons to four million gallons. The concerned departments have been directed to make alternate arrangements.
