International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has praised the government of Pakistan for taking the reforms under the IMF program seriously and said that the results of these measures are now beginning to emerge. The IMF chief said that the IMF has been in constructive consultation with Pakistan for a long time and he appreciated the seriousness of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said that when the Prime Minister promises something, it remains complete. According to Kristalina Georgieva, the meetings with the Pakistani leadership were fruitful, with progress so far and discussions on areas where more work is needed. He said that the same procedure was adopted in recent meetings as well. The managing director of the IMF also praised the Prime Minister and his cabinet and said that they are serious about advancing the difficult but necessary reforms for the betterment of the country, although these reforms also have political implications.
