Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Switzerland to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Upon his arrival at Zurich International Airport, he was received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Muhammad Bilal, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Marghoob Saleem, and members of the Pakistani diplomatic staff. The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad khan Cheema and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. Shehbaz Sharif will participate in various sessions of the 56th meeting of the World Economic Forum. On the sidelines of the meeting, the Prime Minister is also likely to hold meetings with various global leaders. He will attend a business roundtable being held under Pakistan’s hosting and in partnership with the World Economic Forum. The Prime Minister will highlight the reforms being undertaken for Pakistan’s economic stability and the improving economic indicators of the country. He will also speak about Pakistan’s stability under the Triple O Program (Order, Opportunity, Optimization). Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a social media post on X, said that he arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to advance Pakistan’s engagement at the World Economic Forum with global trade and investment partners. He said that Pakistan’s ongoing economic reform journey is unlocking profound opportunities, driven by a resilient and entrepreneurial workforce and significant potential across energy, agriculture, minerals, and emerging technologies. Shehbaz Sharif said that we are ready to harness this potential into mutually beneficial economic cooperation and long-term investment.
