Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the National Police Academy Islamabad, met with the Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police. According to the ISPR, upon arrival at the National Police Academy, the Commandant National Police Academy welcomed Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. A smart and well-equipped police contingent presented a guard of honor to the Field Marshal. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present with Syed Asim Munir. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that a strong, professional and people-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security, enforcing the law is the sacred responsibility of the police, the Pak Army will always stand by the brave and proud police of Pakistan. The Field Marshal appreciated the sacrifices of the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of peace and public safety, and acknowledged the sacrifices of the police in the face of the challenges of terrorism, crime and internal security. The Field Marshal described the police as the first line of defense in protecting the lives, property and honor of citizens. According to the ISPR, the Field Marshal emphasized on inter-agency cooperation, modern policing and promotion of public trust. The senior police leadership reiterated their commitment to improving the quality of the department, increasing professional skills, and institutional reforms. According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir offered Fateha and paid tribute to the police martyrs.
