On Tuesday night, police took former prime minister Imran Khan’s three sisters—Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan, and Uzma Khan into custody from Adiala Road and moved them to an undisclosed location. Their detention helped authorities bring an end to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) 10-hour sit-in outside Adiala Jail. Later, the sisters were released several kilometres away from the jail at Chakri Interchange and subsequently traveled to Lahore via the motorway. The sit-in had been staged by Aleema, Noreen, and Uzma Khan to protest the government’s refusal to allow them to meet their jailed brother, Imran Khan.
