The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has ordered the confiscation of Aleema Khan’s national identity card and passport, along with the freezing of her bank accounts, in connection with the November 26 protest case. Aleema Khan is the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The court also directed the seizure of property belonging to her guarantor, Umer Sharif. The hearing was presided over by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah on Friday. The court issued instructions to NADRA and the Immigration and Passport Department to implement the orders immediately. During the proceedings, the ATC heard the case against Aleema Khan and 10 other accused involved in the November 26 protest. Despite non-bailable arrest warrants being issued, Aleema Khan failed to appear in court, and no legal representative appeared on her behalf. As a result, the court ordered the confiscation of her CNIC and passport, the freezing of all her bank accounts, and the seizure of her guarantor’s property. In its written order, the court observed that “the accused is seen everywhere but does not appear before the court.” Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah was present during the hearing, while all ten other co-accused appeared in court along with prosecution witnesses and case material. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until October 27.
