Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Israel’s name has been removed from the 20-point draft concerning Gaza at Pakistan’s request, with the final version completed at 1am.During a National Assembly session, Dar highlighted that former President Trump had presented key points related to the Gaza issue. He described the situation in Gaza as particularly distressing, noting that a joint statement indicated the West Bank would be included as part of Gaza. Regarding the peace agreement for Gaza, Dar explained that when the 20-point agenda was presented, Pakistan submitted a revised plan from Islamic countries. However, he voiced concerns that changes made to the final draft were unacceptable. The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the joint statement’s appreciation for President Trump’s efforts toward peace, emphasising that the responsibility lies with Islamic nations, not just Pakistan. He referenced a meeting between the foreign ministers of eight countries and Trump’s team, where the US president discussed the issue openly. Dar reaffirmed that Pakistan’s policy on Palestine aligns with that of Quaid-e-Azam. A collaborative 20-point draft was prepared by multiple nations, leading to a joint statement from the foreign ministers of eight countries, most of which accepted Pakistan’s points. In his address, Dar criticised the United Nations, European Union, and other international organisations for their failure to halt the violence in Gaza, where many are suffering from hunger. He mentioned that the Prime Minister had condemned Israel by name at the United Nations General Assembly. Dar also emphasised Pakistan’s enduring friendship with China, which plays a pivotal role in the country’s independent foreign policy. He noted that Pakistan’s long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia includes a defense agreement that has been in development for a considerable time. Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister condemned the Israeli attack on the Global Flotilla, reporting that Israel has seized 22 boats and arrested individuals, including some Pakistanis. He confirmed that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is among those detained and stated that efforts are underway to secure his release from a prominent European country. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of other Pakistanis involved in the flotilla.
