At the United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan says recent consultations held by President Trump with Arab and OIC leaders and announcement made by the United States are noteworthy development.Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in a statement at General Assembly expressed hope that such initiatives can help deliver what is most urgent needed. He urged the need for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the war, unfettered humanitarian assistance and above all a credible political horizon towards Palestinian statehood. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said Pakistan, as part of these consultations will work to ensure that efforts are judged not by promises but by results. He called for stopping the killing, ending the occupation , reuniting families, rebuilding Gaza and guaranteeing protection and dignity to the Palestinian people.
