The Deputy Commissioner of Karachi Malir conducted a raid against wheat hoarders, sealing two rice mills for illegally stockpiling wheat. During the operation, three rice mills were raided, and 75,000 sacks of wheat were recovered from two of them. Silver Rice Mill and Asif Rice Mill were sealed as a result of the raid, which caused a brief stampede among the workers present. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the action was taken on the instructions of the Sindh government to ensure the availability of affordable flour for the public, noting that profiteers had hidden and hoarded a significant amount of wheat. He added that strict action will be taken against the hoarders, the wheat has been confiscated and the mills have been sealed. The operation against profiteers will continue further so that relief can be provided to the people.
