Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has termed the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as historic one.Talking to media in London today, he said the landmark agreement was not signed overnight, but it took months and went through a due process. The Deputy Prime Minister said there has always been an informal arrangement between both the countries for the security of Saudi Arabia including the security of Harmain Shareefain. Ishaq Dar said Saudi Arabia has consistently supported Pakistan during difficult times. He also highlighted that Saudi support was particularly crucial and relevant when Pakistan was facing sanctions. He also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s support for IMF program.
