Pakistan, Iran decide to enhance trade, border cooperation

Pakistan and Iran have decided to further enhance bilateral trade, border cooperation, and humanitarian initiatives. This was decided in a meeting between Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah and Ambassador of Iran, Raza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad today. Both sides discussed trade-related challenges between Pakistan and Iran, particularly border hurdles and infrastructure gaps. The Ambassador said has increased the import of Pakistani rice by nearly ten percent. The Minister welcomed this initiative as a positive step towards strengthening economic relations between the two countries. The Minister emphasized the urgent need for development in Balochistan and the border areas of Iran, stressing that facilities and opportunities for local populations must be enhanced on priority.
