The event will begin at 4.45pm (Pakistan time), with the final scheduled for Thursday, September 18. In a statement ahead of the event, Arshad Nadeem said he is fully fit and in good rhythm, expressing strong determination to win a gold medal for Pakistan. “I am in Tokyo to compete in the World Athletics Championship. Tomorrow is the qualifying round. Please keep me in your prayers so I can perform well and reach the final,” said Arshad. He also appealed to fans for their prayers, adding that he will do his best to live up to the nation’s expectations. Arshad Nadeem made history by winning gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he also set a new Olympic record of 92.97m, and now aims to replicate that success at the ongoing championship.
