Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized that there will be no tolerance for unjustified price hikes in flood-affected areas. During his visit to the flood-hit regions of Kamalia, the minister spoke to the media, stating that both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief are also touring the affected areas. He stressed that the rehabilitation and support of flood victims remain the government’s top priority. A detailed survey is currently underway to assess the full extent of the flood damage. Aurangzeb noted that the Prime Minister has already declared an agricultural and climate emergency to address the crisis. He added that immediate relief for the victims comes first, and the government is committed to taking all necessary measures to mitigate the impacts of climate change. ‘We will work in consultation with the provinces to deal with climate change,’ the finance minister said. He said measures are needed regarding agriculture and population. The government will not allow artificial inflation under the guise of floods, the finance minister said.
