Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the electricity supply companies to waive off last month’s bills for consumers in flood hit areas. Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, the Prime Minister said consumers who have already been charged with electricity bills for the month of August will have their bills adjusted next month. He said a comprehensive relief package on electricity bills for the flood affected areas will be announced after matters are settled with the IMF. The Prime Minister said floods have affected millions of people across the country and government is making every possible effort to alleviate the sufferings of the people in this time of distress. He said federal and provincial departments are making all out efforts for the rescue and rehabilitation of the flood affected people and these efforts will continue till the affectees return to their homes.
