PM Shehbaz visits Qatar, condemns Israeli strike, expresses full solidarity

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a one-day official visit to Qatar to express solidarity with the Qatari leadership and people following the recent Israeli attack on Doha. During the visit, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He strongly condemned the Israeli strike on Doha on September 9, terming it a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He assured the Qatari leadership of Pakistan’s full solidarity and support against this unjust provocation. He also expressed deep condolences over the loss of innocent lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister stressed that Israel’s relentless aggression in the Middle East must be halted and underscored the need for unity among Muslim nations against such provocations. He praised Qatar’s responsible and constructive mediation role in peace efforts in Gaza, while warning that Israeli actions were clearly aimed at undermining regional stability and ongoing diplomatic and humanitarian efforts. Shehbaz Sharif noted that, at Qatar’s request, Pakistan had called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss recent developments in the Middle East. He also welcomed Qatar’s decision to host an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit on September 15, confirming Pakistan’s agreement to co-sponsor and co-organize the summit under the OIC framework. The Prime Minister thanked the Amir for Qatar’s steadfast support during India’s unjust aggression against Pakistan earlier this year. The Amir of Qatar, in turn, thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for visiting Doha to express solidarity. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar and to work jointly for regional peace, respect for international law, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
