Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause during a meeting with Mahmud Siddiqui Al-Habbash, Adviser to the Palestinian President on Religious Affairs and Chief Justice of the Sharia Court.Al-Habbash, who is leading a Palestinian delegation to attend the Seerat Conference in Islamabad, was accompanied by the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Ahmed Hussain, and the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan. Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm felicitations to Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas and reiterated Pakistan’s enduring solidarity with the Palestinian people. He stressed that the sacrifices of Palestinians in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression would never be forgotten, adding that Pakistan will continue to extend full diplomatic, political, and humanitarian support. “Shehbaz Sharif underscored that Pakistan will raise its voice with full force at every international forum to highlight the plight and rights of Palestinians,” an official statement said. Referring to the dire situation in Gaza, he assured the delegation that Pakistan will continue to dispatch humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Gazan families, who are enduring what he termed a “man-made famine” under Israeli occupation. Expressing gratitude, Al-Habbash lauded Pakistan’s consistent and principled stance, describing it as a source of strength and hope for Palestinians during their struggle. He underlined the deep-rooted and historic bond between the two nations, and extended condolences to Pakistan over the loss of life and property in the recent floods. On behalf of President Abbas, the Palestinian envoy presented a letter of goodwill to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirming the spirit of friendship and partnership between Palestine and Pakistan. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Chairman Islamic Ideological Council, Foreign Secretary, and the Secretary for Religious Affairs, who assisted the Prime Minister during the discussions.
