To honor their service, Shehbaz Sharif presented each of them with a cheque of Rs 2.5 million on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. “You are the true heroes of Gilgit-Baltistan and of Pakistan. The entire nation is proud of your timely action that saved so many lives. Your noble service to humanity will always be remembered in golden words,” the prime minister said. He further noted that the Ministry of Climate Change is actively working on an early warning system in Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure better preparedness against natural hazards in the future.
