Army Chief Neither Gave Any Interview Nor Spoke of Apology: DG ISPR

Inter-Services Public Relations Director General (ISPR DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in a conversation with journalists, clarified that the Army Chief has not given any interview to any journalist. He expressed regret that even a senior journalist had shown irresponsibility. He said that the column referred to by Sohail Warraich was actually about an event in Brussels, where hundreds of people took photographs, but there was neither any mention of PTI nor any discussion of an apology. According to him, this was an attempt by a journalist to seek ‘personal publicity’ and benefits, which he termed an inappropriate act. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that anyone who commits an illegal act will have to face the law. He expressed regret that even a senior journalist had shown irresponsibility. ISPR DG stressed that the Army is a responsible institution and that Pakistan is a country capable of changing the destinies of the region, which is why it faces repeated attacks. He urged the youth to understand the legacy of the ideological state and to recognize their own strength, stating that the day they realize their power, no extremist or proxy would be able to frighten them. Referring to the conquest of Makkah, he quoted the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) as saying, “Truth has come, and falsehood has perished,” and, “Indeed, falsehood is bound to perish.” The DG ISPR said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) achieved the conquest of Makkah after enduring great hardships, and those struggles guide the course of our own journey. He stated that Pakistan’s defense budget is Rs80 billion, yet the country is a nuclear power, while a nation like Iran, despite spending more, could not achieve nuclear capability. He added that the minds of Pakistan’s youth have been fed the idea that the nation has failed, while at the same time India was given titles such as “shining state” and “Vishwaguru.” According to him, this propaganda was aimed at pushing children and the next generation into despair.
