Islamabad Airport Flight Operations Put on Hold for 8 Days

The Pakistan Airport Authority has announced temporary suspension of flight operation at Islamabad International Airport on select days in August to facilitate rehearsals for the upcoming Independence Day parade. According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), all arrivals and departures will be suspended on August 11, 12, and 13 between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Airlines have been instructed not to schedule flights during these hours. Additionally, daytime suspensions will be in effect from August 6 to 9 and again from August 11 to 14, with flight operations paused daily between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to allow for uninterrupted rehearsal activity. Authorities have advised passengers to reconfirm their flight schedules ahead of travel to avoid disruptions. Airlines are expected to update their timetables and inform passengers of any changes. These temporary suspensions are part of the logistical and security arrangements for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations, which are set to be marked with full ceremonial honors in the federal capital.
