Apple is set to release its iPhone 16 models as many of the state-of-the-art generative AI features may only be available in the upcoming series. Many of the new LLM features will be available on all iPhone models with iOS 18. However, on-device AI functions might only be available on the iPhone 16. Improved communications between Siri and the Messages app, automatically created Apple Music playlists, integration with productivity apps for AI-assisted content production, and further features are possible updates to iOS 18’s AI functionality. iPhone 16 microphone improvementsAlong with the AI-enhanced Siri experience, the iPhone 16 models are anticipated to come with an upgraded microphone. The microphone will “improve the Siri experience significantly,” claims Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, with enhanced water resistance and a better signal-to-noise ratio. iPhone 16 cameraMoreover, the iPhone 16 Pro models are anticipated to include an improved 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens, which will allow improved images in lower lighting conditions. Using pixel binning to combine the data from four pixels into one “super pixel” for better image quality., the new iPhone 16 camera will probably function like the 48-megapixel Wide camera. An eight-part hybrid lens with two glass elements and six plastic elements will also be provided by the 48-megapixel wide-angle camera used in the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
