No truth in assumptions that Nawaz is staying away from politics: Maryam

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Wednesday rebuffed the impression that party supremo Nawaz Sharif quit active politics after he nominated his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif for the post of prime minister. In a post shared on X, Maryam said Nawaz will not only participate in active politics for the next five years but also oversee the PML-N-led governments in Punjab and Centre. Maryam Nawaz has said that there is “no truth” in assumptions that party supremo Nawaz Sharif is staying away from politics because he did not choose to be the party’s candidate for the premiership. Maryam said, “During the next five years, not only would he actively participate in politics but also lead his governments in the Centre and Punjab.” She further said that Nawaz had “made it clear in his election speeches that he would not be a part of any coalition government”.
