Gold rates increase by Rs.300 per tola

The price of gold increased by Rs300 to stand at Rs215,300 per tola for selling on January 22 as against the previous price of Rs215,000 in Pakistan, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported on Saturday. Similarly, the price of 10 grammes of gold was up by Rs257 to settle at Rs184,585 from the earlier price of Rs184,328. The price of 10 grammes 22 karat gold hit Rs169,203 from its earlier price of Rs168,976. Meanwhile, the price of per tola and 10 grammes of silver remained unchanged at Rs2,600 and Rs. 2,2229.08, respectively. In the international market, gold firmed a day earlier but was poised to record its biggest weekly decline in six, as comments from Federal Reserve policymakers through the week lowered expectations of an early rate cut. Spot gold rose 0.2% to $2,027.49 per ounce, but was down 1% so far in the week. US gold futures settled 0.4% higher at $2029.3.
