Real-life Veer Zaara: Pakistani girl reaches India to marry her love

Javeria Khanum, a 21-year-old woman from Karachi, arrived in India on Tuesday to unite with her love, Sameer Khan, in Kolkata. Despite facing challenges in obtaining a visa, the Indian government has now granted her a 45-day visa. Originally from Dera Ismail Khan, Javeria and Sameer, an Indian man, connected online five years ago and eventually got engaged. Their journey to be together faced setbacks as the Indian High Commission in Islamabad rejected their visa application three times over the past five years. In a positive turn of events, the Indian High Commission has now issued a 45-day visa to Javeria, allowing her to join Sameer in India. Her arrival was marked by a warm welcome, and the couple is set to tie the knot in the first week of January in Kolkata. Expressing her joy upon arriving in India, Javeria Khanum described the experience as surreal. Sameer expressed gratitude to the Indian government for granting the visa, emphasizing the importance of both governments showing special consideration in matters of marriage. The couple looks forward to celebrating their union in the coming weeks.
