The Authorities of Japan has determined to increase grant help of 683 million Yen (approx. US$ 8.6 million) to the Authorities of Pakistan for Upgrading of Mechanical System of WASA Faisalabad.
The official Notes for the grant help had been duly signed and exchanged on 13 August, 2012 on the Ministry of Financial Affairs and Statistics between H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Oe, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and Mr. Javed Iqbal, Secretary, Ministry of Financial Affairs and Statistics.
The residents of Faisalabad have been affected by frequent flood, brought on by inadequate capability of sewerage and drainage system introduced by urbanization and inhabitants development.
By means of this mission, pumps and machineries can be supplied with a purpose to enhance the capability of drainage and cleansing up drainage system in Faisalabad.
