Caretaker Prime Minis\u00adter Anwaar-ul-Haq Ka\u00adkar left for New York yesterday on a five-day official visit to attend the 78th session of the United Nations Gen\u00aderal Assembly. He will address the UN Gener\u00adal Assembly session on 22nd September. In his address, the Prime Minister will out\u00adline Pakistan\u2019s perspec\u00adtive on a range of re\u00adgional and global issues including Jammu and Kashmir dispute which is amongst the long\u00adstanding unresolved items on the UN Agen\u00adda. He will also elabo\u00adrate on the significant measures being taken by the caretaker gov\u00adernment to consolidate Pakistan\u2019s economic re\u00adcovery and efforts to mo\u00adbilize domestic and ex\u00adternal investments. Pa\u00adkistan\u2019s UN envoy Munir Akram exclusively talking to private media outlet on phone from New York said the 78th UNGA is taking place at a time when the whole world is facing multiple challenges including eco\u00adnomic and climate chal\u00adlenge and Russia-Ukraine war. Munir said on the sidelines of UNGA five dif\u00adferent summits are taking place in which Pakistan is actively participating. He also said PM Kakar has very busy schedule in New York where he has back to back meetings and partic\u00adipation in different sum\u00admits. The PM will attend an SDG summit during his visit to the UN head\u00adquarters and would deliv\u00ader speech there. The Unit\u00aded Nations has convened the SDG summit in New York on Sept 18-19, during the General Assembly high-level week. Ambas\u00adsador Munir said during his stay, the prime minis\u00adter will hold meetings with the global leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA ses\u00adsion and would also attend receptions hosted by UN Secretary-General and US President Biden separate\u00adly. Munir said special focus of the speech of the prime minister would be Jammu and Kashmir dispute and worse human rights abus\u00ades by Indian forces.
