The top commanders of the Pakistan Army have concluded that terrorist safe havens and liberty available to terrorists of proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan is a major challenge to Pakistan\u2019s security. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir presided over the 258th Corps Commanders\u2019 Conference (CCC) held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi,\u00a0 the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. \u201cThe sanctuaries and liberty of action available to the terrorists of proscribed [Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan] TTP and other groups of that ilk in a neighbouring country and availability of latest weapons to the terrorists were noted as major reasons impacting the security of Pakistan,\u201d it added. The forum deliberated in detail upon the operational preparedness and training aspects of the army. The forum was apprised about the government\u2019s economic revival plan and the role of the army in uplifting agriculture, IT, mining and mineral and defence production sectors under the ambit of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The forum also paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices persistently being offered by the valiant soldiers in the defence of their motherland against the threat of terrorism.
