The top brass of Pakistan\u2019s military on Wednesday vowed to tighten the \u201cnoose of law\u201d around \u201cplanners and masterminds who mounted a hate-ripened and politically-driven rebellion against the state and state institutions\u201d. According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the consensus came during the 81st Formation Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Formation Commanders\u2019 Conference is one of the military\u2019s larger forums, which usually meets annually for discussion on strategy, operational and training matters, besides deliberating on organisational issues. It is attended by corps commanders, principal staff officers and all formation commanders of the army. Today\u2019s conference was presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir with Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army in attendance. Addressing the forum, the army chief reiterated that the Pakistan Army would remain committed towards the national obligations of safeguarding the \u201cterritorial integrity and sovereignty\u201d of the country. \u201cThe people of Pakistan and their deep bondage with the Armed Forces are and will remain central to all our undertakings and events of 25th May were a clear manifestation of same,\u201d the military\u2019s media affairs wing quoted Gen Munir as saying. \u201cHostile forces and their abettors have been trying hard to create societal division and confusion through fake news and propaganda but all such designs will continue to be defeated with the full support of the nation, InshaAllah,\u201d he asserted.
