The verdict in the Toshakhana case filed against former prime minister Imran Khan has been reserved by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
\nAt the outset of today\u2019s hearing, Barrister Ali Zafar, Imran Khan\u2019s counsel, admitted that his client had sold at least four presents he had received during 2018-19.
\nDuring the hearing, an ECP member inquired about the source of income and money deposited to the Toshakhana to buy the gifts.
\nAt this, Barrister Ali Zafar maintained that they are not willing to reveal this information to the ECP. He said that Imran Khan received gifts worth Rs1.7 million during 2019-20.
\nThe details of the gifts received till 2021 have been provided in the reply, he added.
\n“The ECP scrutinises if it doubts any details, but in our case, the ECP didn’t raise any objection,” Barrister Zafar said.
