Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is using Afghanistan soil for attacks\u00a0in Pakistan.
\nIn an interview with an international publication, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan has taken up the issue of the use of Afghanistan soil by the outlawed TTP against Pakistan.
\nKhawaja Asif has said that Pakistan shared good relations with the interim government in Afghanistan, but at the same time expressed concern that the \u201cTTP [Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan] is using Afghan soil even today for attacks in our country, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u201d.
\nDefense Minister Khawaja Asif further said that on his last visit to Afghanistan, he discussed this matter in detail with the Taliban government and they agreed to cooperate with Pakistan.
\nThe Afghan Taliban government assured that their soil will not be used against any other country.
\nEarlier, the National Security Committee (NSC) approved a multi-pronged comprehensive operation with the support of the government and the nation to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country with a new resolve, determination and valour.
\nThe committee proclaimed that the recent wave of terrorism was the result of the soft corner and the absence of a well-thought-out policy against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
