Microsoft corporate vice president Yusuf Mehdi has announced that the company was \u201cexploring placing ads in the chat experience,\u201d which was confirmed by Microsoft spokesperson.
\nAccording to The Verge, Caitlin Roulston, a director of communications at Microsoft, has confirmed that ads will begin rolling out in the AI-powered chatbot, specifically between chats. The company has reportedly been testing placing ads in Bing for a while.
\nDebarghya Das tweeted a photo, providing insight into how the ads might appear in the chat once placed.
\nIn the blog post of Microsoft, Mehdi said that the company wanted to \u201cshare the ad revenue with partners whose content contributed to the chat response.\u201d It is unclear the volume of ads users will get and whether the chatbot will respond with an ad or source a response from a publisher or website.
