Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday appointed Maryam Nawaz as the senior vice president of the PML-N, authorising her to \u201creorganise\u201d the party \u201cat all functional levels\u201d.
\nInformation Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who is also the party\u2019s information secretary, shared the notification issued by PM Shehbaz, the party president.
\n\u201cPursuant to the powers conferred under the constitution of the PML-N, the undersigned is pleased to appoint Maryam Nawaz Sharif as senior vice president with immediate effect,\u201d the notification said.
\nIt further added that Maryam was \u201cauthorised to re-organise the party at all functional tiers\/levels as chief organiser\u201d.
\nIn a tweet, the prime minister said that Maryam possessed the \u201cdrive, determination and experience to lead the party\u2019s organisational matters\u201d.
\n\u201cI have no doubts that she will very effectively galvanise our party\u2019s rank and file with the vision of our Quaid Nawaz Sharif,\u201d he said.
