Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Kuwait in diverse fields. He expressed these views while talking to the Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who called on him in Islamabad today. Welcoming the visiting dignitary, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. He said Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy longstanding fraternal relations founded on shared values and mutual trust. Discussing the regional situation, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait and strongly condemned the attacks on Kuwait and other brotherly Gulf countries during the ongoing conflict. He said Pakistan is playing its role as an honest and sincere mediator and facilitator in regional peace efforts and thanked the Kuwaiti leadership for supporting these efforts. Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the Kuwaiti government for hosting the Pakistani community and acknowledged its valuable contribution to Kuwait’s socio-economic development. The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Kuwaiti leadership to the Prime Minister and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation. He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to advance dialogue and diplomacy for resolving the current regional crisis and thanked the leadership and people of Pakistan for their solidarity and steadfast support for Kuwait. The two sides agreed to maintain close consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest and exchange high-level delegations in the near future.
