Pakistan and Iran have agreed to boost cooperation in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, prevention of illegal immigration and human trafficking. The resolve was expressed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni at a meeting in Islamabad. The need for adopting a joint stance to prevent drug trafficking and terrorism from the Afghan border was emphasised. Both the interior ministers expressed their resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance mutual trade. They also decided to improve coordination mechanisms to further enhance bilateral cooperation. Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan is ready to expand cooperation with Iran in all fields. He said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni have made exceptional efforts for peace.
