Pakistan will continue its existing policy toward Afghanistan unless the Taliban leadership abandons what he described as a \u201cguerrilla mindset,\u201d Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said on Wednesday. The minister said the Taliban\u2019s attitude towards Pakistan differs significantly from its approach to other countries. Cross-Border Tensions Escalate His remarks came after a series of deadly suicide attacks in Islamabad, Bajaur and Bannu, which Pakistani authorities linked to militants operating from Afghan territory. In response, Pakistan conducted intelligence-based strikes in Afghanistan\u2019s Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, targeting camps associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), its affiliates, and Daesh-Khorasan. Chaudhry said the deteriorating situation was the result of \u201can irresponsible neighbour and an irresponsible state,\u201d adding that Pakistan had previously attempted to improve relations through dialogue. \u201cWe also tried to change their behaviour through dialogue. Now, through practical steps, we want to see them act like a state,\u201d he said. Call for Responsible Conduct The minister criticised the Taliban leadership for remaining silent on attacks targeting mosques, Imambargahs, markets and schoolchildren in Pakistan, while issuing frequent statements on other matters. He reiterated that dialogue remains the ideal solution but warned that Pakistan would continue its current course if cross-border militant activity persists. \u201cIf it is not resolved the straight way, then it will be completely ended by a hardline approach,\u201d Chaudhry said. Border Clashes Continue Following Pakistan\u2019s strikes, Afghan forces reportedly opened fire in the Torkham and Tirah sectors along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. A spokesperson for the prime minister said Pakistani security forces responded immediately and effectively.
