Earlier, police officials said they had no information about Shahrez’s whereabouts, adding that they could only proceed once a formal complaint was lodged. PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqqas Akram, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), condemned the development, stating: “During a raid, men in plain clothes abducted Aleema Khan’s son from her home. We strongly condemn this brutality and demand his immediate and safe return.” From PTI’s official X account, the party alleged that Shahrez was forcibly taken during a raid on Aleema’s residence, where family members were harassed and household staff assaulted. The party called the incident “fascism” and demanded Shahrez’s immediate release. In a detailed statement, PTI’s Central Information Department termed the episode “the peak of oppression and lawlessness,” claiming Shahrez was taken from his bedroom after doors were broken, tortured in front of his two children, and that domestic staff were also subjected to violence.
